The telecommunications service has been boosted by the pandemic. The needs imposed by confinement, using telework and distance learning, largely justify the strong importance of access to this type of high-speed internet networks.
This shortage has led to the creation and expansion of coverage of FTTH (fiber to the home – fiber to the home) networks in a large part of the national territory, especially in more rural and less populated geographic areas, mitigating the difference in access to this type of service between urban and rural areas.
The growing demand for this type of service is verified by the increase of 4.9% in the number of households cabled with a high-speed internet network and 9.1% in the number of households cabled with optical fiber in the last year, according to ANACOM(2020).
LRB has been in this market for over a year in partnership with other entities, performing various functions, both in the collection of information (Site-Survey) and in the development of FTTH Projects with the objective of serving the entire territory, allowing the access to high-speed internet networks for the entire population.
